Ben has practiced in the area of civil litigation since his call to the bar in 2011. Ben has built a reputation as a fierce and compassionate advocate for his clients. His practice focuses on acting for employees and employers in all aspects of workplace law.
He has assisted employee clients in reaching favorable resolutions of disputes including: wrongful dismissals, unjust dismissals, severance pay disputes, human rights complaints, employment standards complaints, employment contract interpretation disputes, unfair competition injunctions. Ben regularly advises on, and drafts agreements pertaining to executive employment, such as employment contracts, stock option agreements, non-competition and confidentiality clauses.
Ben has assisted employers of all sizes, from family run businesses to multinational organizations. Ben has experience advising employers with unionized workforces, assisting with such issues as grievance handling process, union certification and decertification, and collective agreement interpretation and negotiation.
Ben has extensive experience acting as counsel in tribunal and administrative hearings, Supreme Court trials, cases in the B.C. Court of Appeal and Federal Court.
